As shown by the recent case of a 15 year old school boy who suffered an allergic reaction to a hair dyeing procedure. It is possible for an allergic reaction to cause temporary hair loss. This then leads to the thought that a mild allergic reaction that is going unnoticed may be a contributing factor to hair loss. The school boy came from Ireland, and was awarded damages of 12,500 euros in the court as he went to Peter Mark, St. Stephen's Green, Dublin in October 2009 for highlight removal. What ended up happening was that Patrick ended up having a sever allergic reaction which ended up having the hair loss occur. His scalp came out in ulcers, swelling, severe irritation and spots all the way down to his eye area. Reference
